Etsy's CSV export doesn't include variant prices
You priced every size and color carefully. Etsy's listings export keeps the sizes and colors — and drops every one of those prices, leaving a single flat price per listing. It's not your file, and it's not the tool you tried: the data simply isn't in the export.
What's actually in the file
Etsy's “Currently for Sale Listings” download carries your titles, descriptions, tags, quantities, photos, and your variation options — the names and values, like Size: S, M, L. What it doesn't carry is the price (or stock count) of any individual combination. One PRICE column per listing is all you get, no matter how carefully you priced each variant.
What that does to a migration
Every migration path inherits the gap, because none of them can read data that isn't there:
- Raw CSV conversion — every variant lands at the flat listing price. Sellers discover this after importing, then spend days correcting prices one variant at a time in Shopify admin.
- Paid migration services ($69–79) — same export, same gap. The fine print says variant prices are the seller's problem; the days of manual edits still happen, just after the invoice.
- Etsy's Sold Orders CSV — a partial workaround at best: it shows what sold combinations went for historically, but only for variants that actually sold, at whatever the price was then. It can't reconstruct your current price list.
The honest fix
Since no software can invent your prices, the only real question is where you type them — and how fast that is. One at a time in Shopify admin after import: days for a big shop.
